Activity Buddies are trained volunteers that help older adults with mild to moderate limitations such as Early Stage Alzheimer’s continue with those activities they love. The Program makes existing community-based programming accessible, bridges the gap between older adults who need more hands-on care and those who are more active and independent and gives caregivers much-needed respite time.
Activities can be one to three hours in length and can include going to the library, going to lunch, taking a hike, attending a community event, shopping, or playing a game.
To be eligible, older adults must have a caregiver and live in Eagle County.
Volunteers must complete training, undergo a background and DVM check and have appropriate automobile insurance limits if driving participants.
While we do not charge a fee, we appreciate donations when possible. Our suggested donation is $5.00 per hour.
